OurTown changed my life. Before, I didn’t talk to people who were not Latino/a. After, I began wondering what I could do to get students socializing with each other regardless of race or culture. At the Multicultural Retreat sponsored by the University of Arkansas’ Division of Student Affairs, we created an action plan to start a Registered Student Organization (RSO) on campus — the Diversity Alliance. In 2005, the Diversity Alliance was voted Best New RSO at the U of A and we just hosted our second annual Diversity Show celebrating students’ cultural differences - Shonda, Bertha, Fortune, & Rosalba
